Ontario County, located about 75 miles east of Niagara Falls in the heart of the region, is home to five of the eleven Finger Lakes. Among them are two of the largest - Seneca and Canandaigua. Today, the communities that make up Ontario County are known collectively as "Lake Country." |

| For Hikers & walkers - The Finger Lakes Trail Conference site sponsors is the official home of the Finger Lakes Trail System. The (FTS) is the main Finger Lakes Trail (FLT) from the Pennsylvania-New York border in Allegany State Park to the Long Path in the Catskill Forest Preserve. The main FLT is 562.9 miles long. There also are five branch trails and fourteen loop trails that extend from the main FLT. These branch and loop trails currently total 236.0 miles. See a map pf the FLT HERE |
